Elliott Porter Suspended Over Summer Job Pay Issues

Ross Dellenger with the Advocate reported Thursday that LSU center Elliot Porter will miss the Tigers home opener against Sam Houston State as he completes the second of a two-game suspension.

Porter sat out last Saturday’s 28-24 win over Wisconsin in Houston as part of the suspension. It stems from abnormalities in his pay from a summer job, two sources said. An official in LSU’s compliance office declined comment when reached. The suspension is expected to be lifted starting with LSU’s third game, set for next Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe.

A team spokesman declined comment Thursday evening.

Ethan Pocic started in place of Porter against Wisconsin last week, and Les Miles expects the sophomore to do the same against Sam Houston State.

These guys are all broke and many don't have family money to support them. So a kid gets suspended for two days because there's a pay discrepancy. When are these players gonna learn that only the NCAA can exploit college football...
