Update:

Jalen Mills was released from jail on Wednesday and according to his atorney Brent Stockstill, Mills did not punch the victim. Per CBSSports:

The attorney for suspended LSU defensive back Jalen Mills told USA Today Wednesday that his client did not punch the female victim in the alleged May 4 battery that led to Mills' arrest this week.

"He was not the person who struck the victim," Brent Stockstill said. "That would be consistent with some of the information I've received ... I've been contacted by several people that were there when the incident took place. And their version of what happened is not consistent with the arrest warrant."

Original Article:

Multiple sources are reported on Wednesday that LSU safety Jalen Mills has been arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Battery. Mills allegedly punched a female victim in the mouth and was later identified in a 6-person lineup by the victim. Per Nola.com:

According to a Baton Rouge Police warrant, the victim said she was visiting the complex and knocked on Mills door. He opened the door and then closed it in her face so she knocked again. She walked away but said she heard someone say something and when she turned around, Mills punched her in the mouth.

The victim fell to the pavement and was knocked unconscious, the warrant said. Four stitches were required to close the cut on her lip.

Mills was identified in a six-person lineup by the victim as the victim, Redsticknow.com reported. A witness also came forward and corroborated the victim's statement.
Coach Les Miles announced on Wednesday that Mills has been suspended indefinitely but will not comment on the arrest and his suspension until the incident has gone through the legal system.

Mills was released from jail at 3:40 p.m. on $10,000 bond.

I believe that Coach Miles will do the right thing. But he must have the entire true story once it is released.

He is gone. Need to start ridding the team of these type players. Perhaps it will make other players think twice before screwing up. I have had
enough of this off season shite. Game suspensions just don't work.

Can't say he is at fault but nobody needs to be knocking on anybody foor at 1 o'clock in the morning unless it's a emergency. He needs to be punished but not kicked out of school. This is a lesson learned don't open doors for people you don't know.

While I don't agree with hitting a women. We don't know the entire story. I believe he is justified if she tried to stab him. Other than that, he should go. How is that all we know of the situation? Mills has to be smarter than that. Damn

Her being a woman is meaningless. In that context, there is no reason to hit anyone. Of course, that story seems to have a million gaps.

Not sure where the line is on this one. Is it that he sucker punched some one? Is it that it was a women? What if the women called him the N-word when he slammed the door on her...is it then justified? What if she was a white women who did that? Okay, what about a black women who did that? I have no idea what actually took place. I just liked it better when the rules were simple. YOU NEVER EVER HIT A WOMEN!

this is a tough one for miles. hitting a woman is definitely a no-no. I would like to know the whole story here but regardless, a man should never punch a woman.

this might be it for Jalen.

Ok, so this was a random act of violence? From the story it appears that the victim did not know Mills. She probably smarted off to him when he shut the door in his face and pissed him off. Still no excuse for hitting a woman. Team Sweep should not tolerate this in the least bit.

The story seems kind of odd. Did they know each other? The story makes it sound random, which I doubt to be the case.
