Stephen Rivers has officially transfered to Vanderbilt. Per ESPN:
quote:

Vanderbilt announced Wednesday that the 6-foot-6, 230-pound Rivers is enrolling in a post-graduate program at the university's Divinity School this summer.

"I'm happy for Stephen and looking forward to having him join our program," Commodores coach Derek Mason said. "Stephen brings both ability and experience to our team, and he fits the offensive system we will run under (offensive coordinator) Karl Dorrell. I'm looking forward to seeing great competition at the quarterback position this August."
After taking a redshirt year at LSU in 2011, Rivers has used only two seasons of eligibility. He will be able to compete for the starting qb position right away and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Let's see. Miles chose Jefferson over Lee. Miles recruited Mettenberger over Bridgewater. (All but ignored Teddy B. during his visit) ... Then opted for Jennings over Rivers after the Mettenberger injury.

Stephen played this situation well. Never complained. Remained content to hang on down the depth chart, graduate as quickly as possible and move on. I think he lost his desire to play for Miles after a couple of seasons.

Why does Leslie love these dudes who strut with bravado, but generally offer no real leadership qualities?

honestly, an excellent move by him, IMO...he may play a bit of football along the way, but it is time for him to start thinking about how he will earn a living...

wish him nothing but the best...

I'd say 3 years experience in another SEC program under multiple OCs and Systems
is valuable to Vandy's new staff. Not to mention physical attributes.

Good Luck

Best of luck to him. Hope he takes what he's learned from LSU and dominates the Vandy QB competition to become the starter.
