"He's a big 6-foot-4 and 238 pounds, still runs great and hopefully in the right situation has many years of great football ahead of him," Camp said. "South Carolina is a great school and Kelvin was lucky to have two good years there learning from a legend."

"He's disappointed in the situation but hopes to have a good season playing linebacker," Camp said.
Transfering to a junior college means that Rainey will not miss a year of eligibility and will look to transfer back to an FBS school after next season, Camp said.

Originally recruited to play offesne, the Gamecocks moved Rainey to linebacker, and then eventually back to tight end for 2013. He did not record any catches last season, playing primarily on special teams.
