Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been banned for life from the NBA effective immediately following his racist comments during a recorded conversation.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver has also fined Sterling $2.5 Million which is the maximum amount allowed under the NBA constitution. The money will be donated to organizations promoting anti-discrimination.

Silver will urge the Board of Governors to force a sale of the team.

Game 5 of the Clippers/Warriors series will be played tonight in Los Angeles at 10:30 PM ET on TNT.
