Kevin Kelley with FBSchedules.com is reporting that LSU has cancelled its future football series vs. NC State. LSU was going to host the Wolfpack in 2017 and travel to Raleigh in 2020.
quote:

LSU will pay NC State a $100,000 cancellation fee because the “breech” occurs more than 36 months from the date of the 2017 game, per the terms of the contract obtained by FBSchedules.com last month. The cancellation fee was $200,000 for 12-36 months and $400,000 for less than 12 months.

A buyout of $1 million kicked in for LSU had the Tigers opted to play the 2017 game vs. the Wolfpack and then later cancel the 2020 game in Raleigh.
The Tigers will now need one more non-conference game for the 2017 schedule. LSU is currently scheduled to play Georgia Southern, Syracuse, and Troy all at Tiger Stadium.

Wow Syracuse and NC State? Who cares if we play em both? Not like it's Florida State and Oklahoma...... We need to stop this madness and play some football. LSU is and will be THE premier college FB school for a while. When will we invite USC or FS or Ucla to play a game? Ohio State too..... Would love to see those games and it would Gen big money!

I was so looking forward to visit Raleigh. Its a nice football program they got there, just not the same level as LSU. I guess LSU will schedule some cupcake team now!!

So this is how Joe Alleva gets us more night games; ditch the home & away series with a decent program, play two neutral site games, & Tiger fans get to watch LSU play some directional school? Oh, it's at night so we should all be happy.

Great...LSU now has TWO more slots for neutral site money games and say screw you to season ticket holders !

I'm getting real tired of this BS. Part of what made the 2011 season so awesome was beating Oregon and West Virginia.

NC State throwing straight fire at LSU? OMG, the Decline is real. Paid $100k but the loss of pride is immeasurable.

I don't get this at all. Would it really be that much of a strain on the program to play NC State and Syracuse in the same year? Why not move it? Since 1 quality opponent per year is required now, seems silly to be burning those bridges.

My guess is because of the Syracuse series. They probably only want one major conference opponent per year.

I would have liked this home and home series. Anybody hear a reason why?
