Defensive tackle prospect Matt Elam committed to Kentucky over Alabama at a ceremony at his school on Thursday. Per AL.com:

Elam said he made his decision two or three days ago and told UK coach Mark Stoops two days ago, adding that he wants to be part of the foundation that helps the Wildcats reach new heights.

"I feel like that's one of the main reasons I stayed -- just to help my in-state program," he said. "I feel like I can do whatever I can do anywhere else at the University of Kentucky and it's in my home state.

"It is very hard to turn down Alabama. It's the mecca of football," he added. "I will say I love what they're doing down there. I hope they keep it up."
The 6-foot-5, 350-pound nose guard from Elizabethtown, KY (John Hardin) is listed as a five-star prospect according to 247Sports but only a three-star according to Rivals.com.

Hahaha! Isn't this the big, corn-fed MF'er who Saban made a point to tell personally that "He gone" wasn't true?
