I strongly disagree with this whole "they should have tased him" notion. Tasing works under optimal conditions - close range, thin clothing, normal sized person, not moving, etc. Trying to tase someone that eratic and aggressive, constantly moving with no knowledge of if they are armed or dru...
I don't expect to be protected. I do expect some kind of investigation and hopefully some kind of resolution after the fact. The odds of them preventing a crime in progress, unless it's a long drawn out ordeal, is very small. Not enough for me to count on it happening.
I under...
Video would almost be your only hope.
Yes, that's most likely. It is not suppose to be something that easily justifable. I know that sounds bad. If it were so easy (legally speaking) to resist a police officer it would cause far too many fights/shootings with officers whi...

An officer shouldn't have any problem with being video taped unless he is doing something that he shouldn't in which case shame on him. However I have seen instances where someone misundertands in that although they can video tape they cannot necessarily come so close to the officer that it cause...
I'm asking by the book, is what I'm saying justifiable or not?
In the scenario you posted in the op I don't see anything that would rise to the level of deadly force. So . . NO you can't shoot someone because you think they are placing you under false arrest. But you are t...
