First aid kit and a good pair of cutting pliers that can cut through a hook. ETA: Also if you have a hand control trolling motor I highly recommend that you buy a good extension handle attachment....

The Shimano Sedona combo with the Cabela's Tourney trail rod is pretty good but at the top of your budget. The Pfleuger combo is bit cheaper and will also work. Here are a few options in your price range: [link=(http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/browse/spinning-combos/_/N-1102843+10000050/Ne...

That's a good price. But once you factor in the costs of getting it transported back here then registered for LA the deal isn't quite as sweet. I have routinely seen lightly used 24 footers for sale in the sportsman in the 50's. Some with 300's....

Well I was at a completely different price point. The 24 footers are really nice in just about any brand now a days and they are all going to be pretty good rides.. I am not sure how many people actually need a full size 24 footer as opposed to how many buy one just because that's what they want. ...

I've been in Grand Isle since Monday. The seaweed is gone. The tide has been funny this week with high tide being around 7:30-8:00 in the morning all week making for a slack tide very early.
