So LA is considered your tax home? All my clients that have foreign earned income are considered residents of that particular country...so they pay Fed tax on any amounts above and beyond the exclusion and Foreign tax credit. ...

From that info sounds like $1000 will be cost basis - If the land was gifted while the owner was alive each time title transferred....

I live in Iowa so I am not familiar with individual income taxes in Louisiana. So Louisiana essentially accrues the Federal income tax for the year and allows that to be deducted? In Iowa you deduct the amount of Federal income tax paid during the year. ...
