re: Parents, can we get some tips on sleep habits?
Posted by eleventy on 8/20 at 1:36 pm
I have been insane about good sleeping from day one with both kids (15 and 5). I MUST sleep to function, so I may let everything else slide, but they must sleep. In their beds. They each slept in a cradle in our room for about three months. Woke for feedings, and rarely any other time. Moved into cr...

re: How easy is it to win in traffic court?
Posted by eleventy on 8/16 at 9:21 pm
I moved to Denham 11 years ago and had an expired sticker. Within two weeks, I was pulled over by DSPD COMPLETELY because of that. No other infraction or reason for stopping me. I was confused as shite as to what I had done. It was about a $125 ticket, I believe, but I got the sticker updated and wen...

re: Mother Kicked Out of Restaurant for Changing Diaper at the Table
Posted by eleventy on 8/12 at 9:45 am
How disgusting. To change a baby in public areas where people are eating is gross. Go to the car. Simple. A prudent restaurant would have a changing table, but if not -- GO TO THE CAR. I once changed my baby on my lap in a stall, but he was very small and only wet, not dirty. I also would never chan...

I didnt read all of the thread, but as to the dog smell -- there are some dogs my family simply refers to as "stinking dogs". I dont know what it is about them, but they smell bad. No matter how much they are bathed, perfumed, groomed, anal glands cleaned, etc. My in-laws got a beagle puppy around th...

re: Anyone Here Have a Water Well?
Posted by eleventy on 7/28 at 8:47 am
We have one at a second home in the country. The original well was near a house that used to be at the front of the property, and is many yards from the current house. The pump is at the end of the house in its own enclosure. It causes no appreciable noise, etc. Other family members in the area have...

re: How to clean a comforter that's too big for washing machine?
Posted by eleventy on 7/10 at 8:12 am
Keans used to have sales a couple of times a year particularly for comforters. Much more reasonable. Also, laundering at a cleaner is often cheaper than dry cleaning. Just make sure your comforter doesn't require dry cleaning. I usually just take mine to the laundromat. ...

I made a ton of them back in the late 80s/early 90s. It was generally a good time, hanging out in someone's room at the house doing them. Would not have considered outsourcing party cups, tho I would often have my roommate draw something as I am disabled with regard to drawing. Still have some of th...

Stay FAR away from HiHo. Randazzo's is very good. Cafe Phoenicia and Geisha are good. There is a Deangelo's which is -- a Deangelo's. If you are up toward Watson, Firehouse BBQ is far from fancy, but good brisket. I got very sick the last time I ate at Don's so cannot recommend. You can do fine in D...
