re: Vermilion Bay / Intracoastal City / Redfish Point / Cypremort Point Fishing
Posted by Specktricity on 7/21 at 4:16 pm
The bay is plagued by fresh muddy water from the atchafalaya. Also, due to the large area of open water if the wind kicks up the waves will stir up the water and make it like chocolate milk. As was the case last weekend. The key to fishing the area is finding clean salty water, and that can be very ...

Cypremort point state park is nice, there is a beach area and some pavilions. Your not likely to catch any trout or reds off the bank though. Crabbing might be fun....

re: Whats the best way to handle a company that owes you money?
Posted by Specktricity on 3/27 at 1:36 pm
I'm not trying to say you need to take legal action every time an invoice goes over 30 days. The vast majority of the time, if you have a solid contract and you trust your debtor will stay solvent then no actions are needed. I routinely allow some of my customers to go 60-90 days without pestering t...

I am primarily speaking of property liens because I am a contractor and I am familiar with them. All of the burden of securing your debts falls on the creditor. There is a short time after the project to file a lien (60 days) and also a relatively short time after the lien is filed to file suit (...

That is why you file liens. They are relatively inexpensive, and in the case of a bankruptcy filing you are first in line to get paid. Also, If the company that owes you didn't own the land where the work was completed, which is the case with most sub-contract work. Then you stand a very good chanc...

Lien law recently changed, must be filed 60 days after the full completion of the project so Prolly too late. You need to find a new lawyer that actually knows business law and file suit. I would think if BP paid your debtor they would be open to producing that information rather than being a co-...

Try the bayous on the northwest side of marsh island when the wind is out of the south or east. The biggest trick is finding clean water. Due to the river, the water will get worse before it gets better. The trout will simply be very hard to find until clean, salty water moves in. They will start to...
