We need a space creator. We don't need a particularly fast player, but someone who has excellent movement. The only players who never seem to ask for the ball to their feet are the fullbacks, which is ridiculous. This summer we need to buy a DM, a CB, a RB, a winger and a striker. We need to buy...

I don't mind Giroud leading the line if we actually have two players who would run beyond him. It's weird to say but we could have used Gervinho this season. He would have been very useful. ...
Depends upon if we're doing the "attacking players only" thing, or not
A super annoying tendency of these lists. Poldi wants to play as the trailing striker in a 4-4-2, which would suit his style. As a winger he's great when he makes the occasional run to the byline but we need him to do that much more. If he played like Walcott use to, before he became obsessed with playing centrally, he would be fantastic. ...

Simeone is a damn good coach. That first 11 is as good as any in the world. It's not like they won't be able to find replacements. If Simeone stays they will compete every couple of years, but that's a big if. And by the time Santi is done with his contract he'll be 32. I'm not worried about him loo...
no you should probably tailor your side to eliminate that weakness, ie not playing Arteta so far back, especially with another slow CM, or playing a high line. That's the biggest wtf. Well I think it's interesting we haven't given extensions to Arteta, which means we will have to buy a CM. Then we need an RB, a CB, a ST, and a winger. Those are just needs that have to be filled. I don't see any way we don't buy a lot of players this summer. ...

Well the 5 CM thing was basically because we had no wingers. Podolski doesn't play like a winger, Gervinho was sold, Walcot and Ox hurt, so it was mostly out of necessity. And while we weren't playing great we were winning and grinding out games and getting results. He has been tactically naive in t...

I don't think the writing is on the wall. It was obvious that new signings were needed but we couldn't get replacements. Wenger will probably be able to determine when he leaves. It would be very silly for him to leave when for the first time in 8 years he has money to spend, a lot more money than h...

re: What does Landy Donovan have left in the tank?
Posted by crazy4lsu on 4/3 at 1:52 pm
I know, which is disappointing, because I see a lot of potential for Donovan in the withdrawn forward role if paired with a striker who runs his arse off and gives him space. Dempsey is a slower decision maker, which is annoying, but he's also best as a trailing striker, making late runs into the box...

You could conceivably play a 4-2-3-1 with Bradley as the furthest most midfielder with Beckerman and Jones behind him. Move Dempsey wide left, Zusi wide right, with Altidore up top. It's not ideal, and it's a way of jamming your best players on the field. I still think that it will be the Jones-...
