| re: Paul pierce & Avery Bardley for Gordon-- McNamara Rumours Posted by TigerinATL on 5/21 at 11:52 am
It would give time for Vasquez and Gordon to continue to increase their value
Vasquez' value isn't increasing. The clock is ticking on cheap Vasquez and the better he plays the more money he'll get on his next contract. I think either Rivers or Vasquez needs to go by the deadline...Posted on: Jump to Post View Topic |
| re: Paul pierce & Avery Bardley for Gordon-- McNamara Rumours Posted by TigerinATL on 5/21 at 11:22 am Most trade rumors are complete garbage because they are the repeating of conversations that never went anywhere. | re: Paul pierce & Avery Bardley for Gordon-- McNamara Rumours Posted by TigerinATL on 5/21 at 10:49 am
but NOT Jordan.
The only other way to make it work is to swap Butler for for Jordan and give up the draft pick instead of Vasquez.
So it essentially becomes Gordon and 1st for Bledsoe and Bradley. And I'm not in favor of this trade, just pointing out what a 3 team deal might ...Posted on: Jump to Post View Topic |

Some are wanting to morp this into the Bledsoe/Jordan trade, but the only way I can get that to work financially is
Gordon to Boston
Pierce and Vasquez to the Clipper...Posted on: Jump to Post View Topic |

His EC source is one of his supposed best friends that used to work for the Cavs (remember the Jack/Ariza for Antawn Jamison rumor?) and now apparently works for the Hawks. He mentions him enough that I think he's real and just passes on rumor...Posted on: Jump to Post View Topic |
| re: Does tonight's lottery shape the pace of our rebuild? Posted by TigerinATL on 5/21 at 9:24 am I think they have enough cap space that it doesn't matter. Assuming Gordon is healthy or traded for someone ready to contribute, this team can easily take the next logical step forward with just internal development and $14 million worth of veteran Free Agents.
An interesting observation from ...Posted on: Jump to Post View Topic |

| re: ESPN article: Protected picks encourage tanking in the NBA Posted by TigerinATL on 5/20 at 1:07 pm I think Simmmons/Grantland has proposed some sort of play in tournament to get rid of tanking. I think you could improve the tanking situation a lot if you cut the lottery from 14 teams to 8 teams and have teams 7-16 have a tournament for the 8th seed....Posted on: Jump to Post View Topic |

1 - That's after you've made your big runs at Jennings/Pekovic etc.
2 - That's only if there is actual demand from playoff teams willing to give him their full MLE. Unless a playoff team really wants him I'd expect his salary range to be closer to $2 - $4 million.
