Sassafras. Their fried catfish and mac n' cheese are awesome! Really big menu with lots of choices. Everything I've had there is really good....

Me too... <------ on the boot list I don't mind walking. I'll park in the Marigny and walk to Harrah's, done that before. I just hate to park on the street. Not paying those stupid tickets. Just gonna wait them out. Worked in Jefferson Parish. ...

re: Review - Mariza
Posted by nikinik on 7/9 at 9:47 am
I went last night. Even on a Tuesday it was full. We waited 20 minutes for a table. No biggie. I would've tried some of the crudo, but I went deep sea fishing Friday and ended up eating carpaccio and ceviche all weekend. I definitely will when I go back. The pastas too....

Review - Mariza
Posted by nikinik on 7/9 at 7:46 am
I've been wanting to try Mariza for a really long time after hearing so many great things about it. Let me just say that the praise I had been hearing was spot on. Mariza has a great Bywater location on Chartres close to NOCAA. Speaking of NOCAA...the parking lot next to Mariza is for NOCAA o...

The best odds will be playing the don't pass with full odds behind the line. Field bets are terrible, and the prop bets in the middle of the table are called "sucker bets." P.S. I used to deal craps....

I love selecting 3 cheeses and a meat and having them do up an amazing cheese tray. It's very impressive. For an entrée, their pork chop is really, really good, and a helluva deal. It's huge....

I thought it was good, not great. The pork chop was too salty. $27 for 3 scallops is nuts. Go to spilling during happy hour and get 2 scallops, a grilled shrimp, and corn marque choux for $6. ...

I just tried Legend of the Vine cabernet sauvignon, and I'm hooked. Got it for $9.99 at Rouse's. A week later it was on sale for $8.99. Almost 14% alcohol. Very smooth. I also really like Gnarley Head. I don't like Apothic. Too sweet....

Domenica Happy hour now only going until 5 pm

This is disappointing news. While I'm thrilled that Pizza Domenica now has a happy hour, I'm not happy at all that Domenica's happy hour will now end at 5. Who the hell can go to happy hour before 5? http://nola.eater.com/archives/2014/06/16/here-are-pizza-domenicas-happy-hour-specials.php...
