re: NASCAR Is Going To Leave The Chase Format The Same
Posted by TU Rob on 1/27 at 2:46 pm
so this might be a stupid post
Yes, it is. Tons of sponsor money each week (and I mean tons. I used to work for a company that sponsored a very popular driver) and the level of competition with a dozen cars vs 43 would sway things tremendously. If a team gets 2-3 cars in, an...

re: If you are reasonably healthy, how fast should you be able to run a mile?
Posted by TU Rob on 1/27 at 1:04 pm
8 minutes a mile is hard for me to maintain for more than 3-4 miles. They usually stretch to 10 after that. But if you're in running shape it isn't hard to do that for a few miles. And it is pretty easy to get there if you're not. It is the wall you hit around 3.5 miles when you're working up to dis...

re: PSA: don't spend your money on a hunt in the black belt of alabama
Posted by TU Rob on 1/27 at 12:06 pm
Wiregrass is the area surrounding Dothan (where I grew up). Black belt is typically thought of as Montgomery and westward. Barbour County is Eufaula/Union Springs, and I've got some in-laws there as well. They don't hunt that area. They go towards Montgomery instead. ...

re: XMBC on Fire TV users: What remote do you use?
Posted by TU Rob on 1/27 at 12:02 pm
But the remote that came with the Fire TV is clunky. Is anyone using a wireless mouse/keyboard combo with it? Or a remote with keyboard on it?
I have the iOS app for my Fire Stick. Tried it out the first time this weekend, and it was great. I was searching for a show, and am ...
If you are going to do the Chase you need to reward success that was gained during the season. It's no fair for a guy who won 7 races to be reset to the same 3,000 points that some driver with 0 race wins has.
Unless they changed it last year (which they might have, since I didn...

re: Cooking bacon with water - Anyone do this?
Posted by TU Rob on 1/26 at 5:24 pm
I use a sheet of aluminum foil on a baking sheet. About 425 for 12-15 minutes. Set the timer for 10 and check it then. Cooks about 8 slices at a time. And I don't preheat the oven. Both burners going from when I put the sheet in and it cooks from both sides. Perfect every time and the whole ho...

All Ebonics jokes aside, my parents have two of them. Mom had one then dad got her a new one so he could have her old one as a work truck. He also has a little 2 seater convertible Benz. The convertible and old SUV were bought new in late 2006. Both are still running great. Just regular maintenance....

I went on a few interviews 3 years ago when I was looking. Suit to every one of them. Two of the places, the interviewer told me it wasn't necessary. They were all business casual. At my last job, which I interviewed for about 7 years ago, I wore a suit to the first interview. Both of the p...

Just get a spade bit and any old cordless. They work faster through lumber than a regular drill bit, which will help extend your battery life. Especially if it is older lumber you are going through. A fresh one will drill through much quicker. We did a big renovation last year, and I had to run ...
