re: Wonder if ncaa considered going all wood bats like minors and big league?
Posted by Thorny on 4/15 at 10:21 am
Not all wood bats are the same--there's only so much good-bat-quality wood each year. The best bats go to the majors, the next best to the minors. A school that cares about baseball like LSU would get the third tier bats, but smaller schools would get stuck with even worse bats because of the ...

Pearl is a very good game coach, but obviously has ethical issues on the recruiting trail. We've seen coaches like this before get right at another school (Sutton & Calipari come to mind). He might be reformed, he might not be. Personally, I'm glad we don't have to deal with those types of issues...

Va Tech. If that game doesn't happen, Va Tech goes to the BCSNG instead of us. Back in the days when Spurrior was at Florida, I kept wondering when LSU would blow away a legitimately highly ranked opponent like the Gators seemed to do routinely (see the scores he routinely put on Tennessee.) Th...

We lost the narrative from the very beginning, when all the stories of the GOTC focused on how Bama "beat us except for the missed field goals". So the opportunity for a rematch to "make things right" was always going to be there if no other undefeated team was available. The minute OSU missed th...

I recommend "Wheat Belly" by Dr. William Davis. In essence, the wheat cultivated today isn't the same as the wheat of 50 years ago. The timing of the changes to the plant to make it more profitable correspond to increased obesity and diabetes. The changes in the plant itself means that it does ...

I think Dale Brown was a much better XO guy than he will ever get credit for. From the middle of the 86 season until the end of the 88 season, the Tigers were one of the most ferocious defensive teams in the NCAA. This happened because of the infamous "Freak" defense. The key to it all was that...

The real difference on 1/9/12 was that the special teams and defense didn't change the game dramatically like they had all year. Several factors have led to the current season of discontent among LSU fans, and 1/9/12 is the flashpoint for almost all of them. 1. Attending a game, whether home or away, requires a large commitment of time and money. If you are well entertained, it's worth it. Every game of the 11 season wa...
