re: Airport Stores
Posted by AbitaFan08 on 1/28 at 12:13 pm
I understand that, but I'm just saying that seems like a really small margin of people. And I rarely see a single person in these stores. I just wonder what the profit margin on these places is. Who sees a Brookstone and thinks "I should pop in and get that alarm clock/waffle iron I've been eyein...

Airport Stores
Posted by AbitaFan08 on 1/28 at 12:01 pm
I'm sitting in the ATL airport waiting on my flight, and I'm looking around at all the stores in the terminal. Brooks Brothers, Johnston & Murphy, Mont Blanc, etc. How do these places stay in business? I never see anyone shopping there, and for the life of me I don't understand why someone would ...

re: Why would anyone willingly live up north?

Dont get me wrong, it's not that everyone in Boston is always dressed to the nines. But I do feel like the majority of the people I see in the city are well dressed most of the time. Now, go outside the city and that changes. But if you go into middle of nowhere Louisiana and people aren't exactly t...

I would have to disagree with you there. People in Boston tend to dress really well. I dress like a person from the south would and I'm consistently the most underdressed when we go somewhere....

More power to you. I'm still in my 20s so city life is very appealing to me. I likely won't feel that way in 20 years....

Yes it does. It's expensive to live up here. But to me, you get what you pay for. I could live in BFE Massachusetts for very cheap, but I would rather pay more and be in the city....

No wrong answers. I prefer it in the Northeast, by that's just a personal preference. Can't wait to leave here though, but not for the south. The west just seems like my ideal place to be. Some day....

I tried to be positive and name good things from each. I can make a cons list too but I figured that would cause a whole lot of unnecessary drama. FWIW, the only time I pay tolls is when I pick someone up from the airport. And I don't honestly know the difference in what I paid in taxes in ...

I've only lived in the NE for a little over a year and a half, versus the 26 or so spent in Louisiana, but from what I've learned here's my list of things that each has over the other. Not saying which is better, that's something for each person to decide for themselves. North (speaking NE specif...

The northeast is pretty great, actually. You learn to live with the cold, and when it's not cold it's perfect up there. The south has a lot of great things about it. It's my home and I love it. But to assume it is the be all end all of places to live is probably coming from a place of ignoranc...

Well that's also the place that named Katrina, right? I'm honestly asking. Nobody calls it "Super Racist Windymajig" (not saying we shouldn't), so I'm guessing they have some authority on naming storms....

re: Cruel, yes. But is this a felony?
Posted by AbitaFan08 on 1/26 at 12:11 pm
That was my point. I know it's illegal and I'm not going to jail for it. But animal cruelty upsets me to the point that yes, I would really want to kill people that do it if I didnt have to suffer the consequences. I also feel the same way about pedos, rapists, and people who drive on the shoulde...
Suggestions for song(s) 4 a bday slide show
I don't know why, but it irks me that you used "for" and then used the lazy man's "4" in the same sentence. Damnit man, consistency! But really, I don't have any great suggestions outside the cheesy Time of Your Life....
