I believe it was early 90's based on the girl I was dating at the time.. I'd say 93? Dead on for Lyman Whites.. That was a pretty good joint. Wish it was still there....

There was a place on Essen in the early 90's, next to Schwinn Cyclery and I can't remember who owned the place.. Wasn't there very long.
Warren Capone and his shitty restaurant on Essen: Linebacker's
beat me to it.. There was also a place on Highland in the early 90's that...

I like Sanderson Farms chicken breasts from Albertson's, or the organic, free range chicken you can get at Fresh Market, Whole Foods or a local farmer's market.. forget Wal Mart....

The Mesquite flavored seasoning mix is very good. I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil in the mix and pour the remaining marinade into the pan, after the chicken is browned. You can also slice an onion and bellpeppers and and throw them in the marinade and add smoked sausage.. Ca c'est bon...

Spaghetti is one of the least boring dish there is, imho. To add interest you can make your own pasta (which I've never attempted). You can buy or pick your own fresh Roma tomatoes and using a food mill, make your own tomato sauce. This will change the dimension of your sauce completely. I like ...

Wild (not farm raised) salmon. Salmon is healthy, flavorful, moist and delicious, to goop it up with a ton of sauce or overcook it, till it has the texture of catfood is a waste. Less is more.. Season with salt and black pepper and you're good to go. ...

I don't see Mellow Mushroom making it in the long term. MM pizza is hit or miss and when it's a miss, it's terrible. Too many good pizza places with market loyalty, continually failing location and beer that's available at Philippe's or Marcello's. If Mellow Mushroom was serious about Lafayette...
