Fished back-side of Elmers' Saturday morning with son. Tide was not moving very much but did work thru the dinks on live shrimp. Kept 7 reds (16-18) and 7 trout (14-23). All trout females and the eggs were not quite mature. Also the immature mangrove snapper were out in force....

I am assuming the OP has shares of PM. My suggestion is if he whats to increase current income from PM, and does not seem to care if the option is called or not. Sell covered calls pretty far out of the money, collect the premium and live another day....

They use the highest marginal tax rate in effect at the time. Could be quite high considering what went into law for 1/1/13. They also only consider federal taxes; ordinary income, qualified dividends, short term gains & long term gains. 2013 Highest marginal rate is 39.6% plus surcharge of 3.8%...

Brother is a partner in a large Houston law firm. His conclusion is that most of the senior partners with die working because of no retirement savings. This he says is with seven figure compensation plans. Keeping up with the Jones is the problem....

The 10% is a penalty on the taxable amount of what you withdrew. If the withdrawal is 100% taxable, then the 10% penalty is on all 100%. Except if you qualify for one of the exceptions, which are listed on IRS site....

My HSA account has a very low monthly interest rate also. But once the account goes over $1,500.00 you can set up a regular brokerage accoount and trade securities. Must keep a minimum of $1,500 in HSA and move funds back and forth between HSA and brokerage account as needed....

Wife got called for federal jury duty about 7/8 years ago. Know a former Asst. U.S. Attorney, used them to right letter, was released from duty but they will tell you that no more excused duty for 4/5 years. She got stuck with 3 straight years of state district court....
