Brand/age? Mine(Toro) is 6 years old and had lost a lot of self-propel power over the past couple of years. I changed the belt and cleaned all underneath and it's like new now....

My son is 3 and we put him in survival swimming lessons the past two years for this reason. He's never worn swimmies and knows how to swim to the side on his back and try to climb out. Whether it will relate in a true emergency, I don't know, but I hope so. ...
