| There Might Be Soup Posted by Darla Hood on 5/19 at 12:59 pm I was looking for something good to make (like Beef Rendang), but decided I need to use up some stuff I have instead of shopping for more ingredients.
It's gonna be soup, but I can't tell you what kind, yet. I have some tasso and cabbage that need to be used, as well as some veggies in the freeze...Posted on: Jump to Post View Topic |
| La Pagua in Lafayette (with pics) Posted by Darla Hood on 5/15 at 9:04 pm First time at the new location in Time Plaza. I was worried that the food would lose something in the fancier digs. Not to worry. It was still excellent!

| Mother's Day Meals Posted by Darla Hood on 5/12 at 1:42 pm This is my first Mother's Day with my son not here. He called, sent me a gift as well as his love. I miss him so much.
My husband made our Mother's Day meal today. He bought a boudin & cream cheese stuffed pork tenderloin from Chops in Broussard.
Resting, after being taken off the grill:

| Crawfish Etouffee (w/pics) Posted by Darla Hood on 5/4 at 6:44 pm Apologies in advance if this is too basic.
I made some crawfish etouffee a couple of days ago and posted a pic in the wfdt thread.
bossflossjr also posted a picture of his etouffee, and they looked completely different. Mine was not very "saucy," mostly because I wasn't serving it over rice ...Posted on: Jump to Post View Topic |
| Restaurant suggestions off I-10 between Laffy & Lake Charles Posted by Darla Hood on 4/30 at 9:16 am An acquaintance is driving through Louisiana tomorrow and wants a good lunch place off I-10. My estimation (based on Google maps) is Laffy by 10:30, so lunch somewhere between there and LC.

| Is there such a thing as a remodeling consultant? Posted by Darla Hood on 4/14 at 10:37 am We have a nice home, but the kitchen and the master bath are truly outdated. The main thing that has stopped us from updating is that I really want to do more than just get new counter tops, floors & cabinets in the kitchen and more than just new fixtures in the master bath. | Ville Platte sausage Posted by Darla Hood on 4/13 at 12:33 pm I have a friend in the boiled crawfish biz who is not satisfied with the sausage they are using in the boil. | stress eating Posted by Darla Hood on 2/27 at 12:26 pm Do y'all do it? What's your stress food of choice?
I just overate baked fish and broccoli. That did not relieve any stress, was less fun than chips and now I don't feel good because of the stress and the overeating.
This is probably not F&DB material.

| Leftover Boiled Crawfish Posted by Darla Hood on 2/4 at 10:51 am We boiled crawfish on Saturday and have a lot leftover. | Vegetable Beef Soup w/pics Posted by Darla Hood on 1/30 at 7:05 pm The hardest thing for me to do when making vegetable soup is deciding what to exclude. One of my strengths as a cook is making do and using what I have. One of my weaknesses is indecisiveness when the options are open.
