Body Double (the movie)
Posted by Spock's Eyebrow on 7/15 at 12:41 pm
Saw link with this name in the Blue Lagoon thread and went "Awwww" when it brought me to that movie's IMDB trivia page. Body Double was a great 80s movie. Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Melanie Griffith's epic list that taught me a few terms and concepts, not to mention her "routine", house t...

Bryan Cranston on Charlie Rose
Posted by Spock's Eyebrow on 6/12 at 2:52 pm
He's playing LBJ on stage, and I saw him on Charlie Rose a little while back. They played a recording of LBJ talking with his tailor I had never heard before. It's not long, and I'd listen from the beginning as the hilarity enters out of nowhere. [link=(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3GT9UN7nDo...

Things you expected to buy at Costco but they don't carry
Posted by Spock's Eyebrow on 6/5 at 2:29 am
Coffee filters. Googling indicates it wasn't just my imagination. Costco has a whole fricking aisle of coffee but nary a filter in the whole damn store. Plain old Heinz ketchup. They have organic Heinz in two-packs and picnic packs with mustard and relish. Nope. Nope. Nope. Where's my damn 3-pack ...

George's (Southside)? Bistro Byronz? Other? We had George's the other Tuesday and thought it was pretty damn good. It was more than I could eat at one sitting. Two plates ended up three full meals, and it was great heated in the microwave two days later. Not bad for under $20 total. ...

For those into that David Gilmour-looking chick, she has a memorable guest spot in "Episodes" S03E06, simultaneously funny AND disturbing. While not a great show by any stretch, "Episodes" is the best show I watch no one talks about, and to be clear, I'm not saying that on the basis of that scene...

Renumbering channels in program guides

Does your DVR let you renumber channels in its guide? I've always refrained from doing this in Windows Media Center, but since I think about the network names instead of channel numbers, I decided to give it a try. It's pretty cool to group and order the channels the way I want. You can also hide ch...
