Digging up rocks and mud from old clogged french drain - tool suggestions
Posted by Casty McBoozer on 8/1 at 7:25 am
Shovel is shite. So far I've found the most effective tool is the wide end of a pick axe. Anything better than this? It's only about 1 foot wide by 20 feet long or so. It's packed in there like a bitch, though. Thanks....

If you want to move this to the Tech board, that's fine, I thought it was better here. This is one of those stories that you hear and don't believe because you think no one can possibly be THIS stupid. Here's my story, with no embellishment: I work for a computer services company along with a...

Water remaining in A/C drip pan
Posted by Casty McBoozer on 7/30 at 8:36 pm
I recently noticed my overflow line for my A/C was dripping. I thought the main drain line was clogged so I brought some bleach up to the attic, but found the main line had come loose, so the A/C was just dripping directly into the pan. Anyway, I got that straightened out. What I'm concerne...

Someone brought us a Surface tablet with the instructions to install Google Chrome...and yes, motherfricker should have just gotten an Android if he wants to use Google, right? At first I was thinking this guy must be a halfwit if he can't figure out how to install Chrome. But then I tried, and...

pressure washer blowing water hoses?
Posted by Casty McBoozer on 7/20 at 11:50 am
I borrowed a little Honda pressure washer from a coworker, it has a GCV160 engine on it. It's not anything high-end, I think it's 2400 psi. I was running the pressure washer for a little while, put it down to climb up a ladder for a minute, and the end of the hose separated from the threaded end....

Toll-by-plate, Destin FL, sent me a bill - WWtOTD?
Posted by Casty McBoozer on 7/3 at 7:32 pm
We went vacationing in Destin at the end of May. Some new toll-by-plate system took a picture of my license plate and they've sent me a bill. It's not much, just $5.50 ($1.50 for each pass and a $2.50 administration fee). Apparently the admin fee can be avoided if you create a pre-paid account :lo...

Thinking of a career change - any machinists here?
Posted by Casty McBoozer on 6/28 at 2:50 pm
I've been in I.T. for about 10 years. I can never seem to get on with a big company (unless willing to take helpdesk job and I'm not). I've come close to landing good paying I.T. jobs with larger companies, but it hasn't worked out. I always end up in small companies where there's no room to advan...

So I'm playing with this HP All-in-one (I hate the idea of all-in-ones, I didn't have anything to do with the purchase decision and it's not for me) and I'm noticing it's pretty slow. I pop open the device manager and I'm expecting to see a traditional hard drive, but I see a ST1000LM014-1EJ164...

Help finding Android music player - select music by folders
Posted by Casty McBoozer on 5/23 at 1:01 pm
Most of the music players want to read the metadata from your files and display based on Artist/Album/Genre/etc. This doesn't really work for me, I have my music already sorted into folders for specific reasons and I don't need a program reorganizing it for me. I don't think my needs are rid...
