Warren Leruth, deceased, for years ruled the New Orleans scene in the restaurant world. His restaurant, Le Ruth‘s in Gretna, LA across the river from the French Quarter, for years was the only Five Star restaurant west of the Mississippi. The 24 Best Cooking Shows of All Time, Ranked
Posted by Stadium Rat on 3/23 at 6:40 pm
Personally, I think Emeril is ranked way too low - he singlehandedly proved that a cooking show could succeed in prime time and propped up the Food Channel for years until it became stable. Ridiculous that Guy Fieri ranks higher. [img]https://s.yimg.com/cd/resizer/2.0/FIT_TO_WIDTH-w500/9146be3d3...

Mandarin Chicken - Local Version Is Different
Posted by Stadium Rat on 2/24 at 7:33 pm
Saw Mandarin Chicken mentioned in another thread and was wondering how many here knew that the local (N.O./La.) was very different from what the rest of the country knows as "Mandarin Chicken". From Fitzmorris: (NSFW due to racial slur)[quote]Mandarin chicken is fried chicken with a brown sauce–o...

As fate would have it, I was called out to work before I got it started and didn't get back home til it was too late to cook. Now, I've had these beans so...
