Exactly. I have never collected any form of assistance but if people have paid in I have no problem with them taking it back out, in fact I encourage it.

So you only want people to get back what people put in? Well I guess we should cut Medicare by 2/3's because for every dollar you put in to Medicare you get 3 in return

That's a pretty dumb opinion.

It's not you're money. The company pays into the fund, not employees.

They should print more money so everyone can quit working and we can all get $1000/wk for not working

She was a cashier at a truck stop for her career, who was taking care of her grand-daughter because her daughter died of Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) and her son-in-law took all her daughter's life insurance and went and blew it on drugs.

I did some checking and posted the list for each state. I have to say Arkansas at around 450 seems to be the best deal for cost of living.

It's not your money your getting back. It's money your employee has paid.

Ya odds are that a person has "control" over most of their life decisions, including raising terrible kids or who they associate themselves or what not. This particular person might have been hit by a meteor, but overall you'd be right.

And you can get a job tomorrow if you wanted it, its just not gonna pay well.

Waiting at home all day really sucks though.

And likely won't be enough to cover your bills.

Individuals do not contribute a penny to the unemployment insurance fund, fwiw.

Probably could have gotten one easily. I had a near full time job carrying 15hrs in college. Company filed for bankruptcy. I was laid off a little while after, hired back, laid off again. Couldn't find a job that paid more than I could get on unemployment. Finished the rest of the semester then locked down another job. Probably 10-15 weeks.
