If we were to start paying them back, how do we do it? With cash or gold?

Sorry for the stupid question, but just wondering how it actually works.

They own Treasury Notes, Bonds, Bills.

They get paid back like any other holder.....from additional borrowed funds

You just pay them back like we do now (and every other debt holder). As the treasury notes mature you pay them back.

We don't answer the phone when they start calling.

And when they send someone knocking, we answer with big arse guns.

according to leftists china doesn't even hold hardly any of our debt

its like what my uncle used to say. "a fool in the bed, a tool in the shed, a dollar to save, a funny guy named dave"

When you say "we," you might be referring to a lot of different parties.

Government: "We'll pay for it with 'revenue,' of course!"

Working Americans who pay federal income taxes: "Well, I guess I'll retire when I'm 90."

Americans who pay no federal income taxes: "China? Like the wrestler girl? Hey when's Catfish on tonight?"

China owns about 1/16 of our debt.

I believe that the biggest chunk of debt is intra-governmental.

Right, we own about 4 trillion to ourselves.
