vacation pay from previous employer Posted by diat150 on 1/28 at 6:38 pm my previous employer says I am not qualified for vacation pay because I did not stay for one year. I checked around on the web and it seems as though unless their vacation policy states the requirements, the money should be paid to the employee. I read the policy up and down and nowhere does it state anything regarding being employed for 1 year before being eligible for the payout. anyone have any opinions on this? Reply Back to Top
I know I've worked places for less than a year and quit and they paid me all of my unused vacation on my final check. Reply Back to Top
yeah like I said, if they state in the policy that they will not pay, then they dont have to. or at least that is the way I interpreted the law. Reply Back to Top
Could you take a vacation in the first year? I know you were earning time from day one or so, but when could you have used it? Reply Back to Top
as soon as it accrued. I think I had 59 hours in 6 months. Reply Back to Top
They owe it to you if it could have been used immediately IMO. Reply Back to Top
Not to kill your hopes; but my job states I have to stay with the company for a year. Reply Back to Top Refresh
