I think this is the thing that our staff is doing very well based off of the San Antonio system. For a small market team, you need to ensure that your roster is greater than the sum of the parts, and that is clearly the case with a Gordon/Vasquez back court. You're seeing the same thing with the front court now. You don't need a stereotypical center, per se. You need to be able to guard a center. So, you can mix and match skills to cover defensive needs. | To further that point, look at your combination of Aminu with Anderson and or Lopez. Both Anderson and Lopez are guys that can nail buckets, but tend to underperform on the glass. Aminu (and Vasquez as well) picks up that slack, while they help with his lack of offensive input. Aminu also provides a long, bouncy guy that can sag into the paint and alter shots with Davis, which isn't really Lopez' or Anderson's game. That is where Aminu, if he gets more consistent, could actually fit a very important role on this roster. Reply • Back to Top |
