| Washington Times Bountygate Apology Posted by whomewhat on 1/13 at 8:25 pm LINK In fact, the tragedy is that there has been no hard evidence whatsoever to justify Commissioner Roger S. Goodell’s decision to suspend the Saints’ General manager, coaches and current & former players, as well as forfeiting their top draft pick prior to the 2012 season. Now that most of the real facts have emerged, it is evident that the Commissioner jumped the shark in his zeal and rush to judgment against the New Orleans Saints. | Not you just the continuing string of apologies. This post was edited on 1/13 at 8:32 pm Reply Back to Top |
| We need a thread just for all of the national apologies we'll have to keep track of this offseason. Reply Back to Top |
| the only apology i want is from Goodell, which would be concerning the upcoming draft. Reply Back to Top |
| I just want our 2nd back, and an additional 2nd for last season. And Goodell fired. frick him. Reply Back to Top |
| our 2nd rounder back AND the last pick of the 2nd round? if that was the case, just chalk the saints down as SB winners. shoring up 3 spots of needs in 2 rounds :) Reply Back to Top |

| I'm not about to give that writer or his paper any kudos. Where were he and his colleagues across the country when this thing first broke? Why weren't they doing their job to uncover the truth then instead of just assuming it was all true? Reply Back to Top |
| I hope every week a media outlet apologizes to the Saints and keeps this train rolling...... Reply Back to Top |
| would y'all rather them not apologize? Reply Back to Top |
| That letter is well written, and in most circumstances that is how one should apologize. But I don't want him to apologize. I want him to go down in court. I want him to apologize as he is fitted into an orange jumpsuit. Goodell doesn't deserve the good press he would eventually get by apologizing that well. People would forgive him and commend him on his honesty. I want none of that. I want him to remain the villain. He doesn't deserve the relief of revealing the truth. Die with your lie. | Thanks for posting this. I haven't been keeping up with the news lately and was wondering if Benson has received the internal report on this mess. Didn't he hire the same guy who did the Sandusky report at Penn State? Reply Back to Top |
| Wonder how many publications turn on the Rog before next season, especially pending the result of Vilma's lawsuit. Speaking of which, have there been any updates? When will the case be heard? Reply Back to Top |
quote: Not an excuse, but I don't think anyone outside of Roger's inner circle would believe the league would lie and spin they way they did. Surely a multibillion dollar entity with the best counsel money could buy would not just make shite up. Reply Back to Top |
quote: That was my intial reaction but if they have real evidence, why not release it? What they have released has been grossly mischaracterized. I still don't understand what really happened. I see no motivation for Goodel to make it up, but . . . Reply Back to Top |
