Posted by Bench McElroy on 1/11 at 9:50 pm to harmonics Mike Tomlin Rex Ryan Bill Belichick Sean Payton Mike Shanahan Tom Coughlin Those are the ones that stand out the most. The only successful coaches that I can see not being terrific college coaches are coaches like Mike Smith and John Fox. I don't know if they have enough charisma to be top-notch recruiters in college. Also, Gary Kubiak would be Mike Sherman 2.0 IMO. This post was edited on 1/11 at 9:52 pm Reply Back to Top |

| Mike Tomlin could probably recruit one of the best classes ever. Reply Back to Top |

| Lovie Smith even though he is no longer coaching, but he will be again somewhere soon. Reply Back to Top |

But I can still see him being a successful coach just based on his defensive acumen similar to what Tommy Tuberville was like at Auburn. Reply Back to Top |
| Sean Payton Marvin Lewis Mike Tomlin Mike McCarthy Obviously BB Reply Back to Top |
quote:completely disagree. his press room demeanor leaves alot to be desired-- doesnt show a whole lot of living room potential. and if you havent noticed, he doesnt get top talent and steer it success like a saban has, he gets smart, hard working guys who are reliable and uses an all time QB to direct traffic on the field. belichick could never succeed in a 20 hours per week environment. lest we forget, belichick was 41-57 pre brady. | Every 5 star in the country would line up to play for BB All he has to do is got to a kids living room wearin 3 SB rings Reply Back to Top |
quote:belichick has never excelled with great talent. he likes smart, reliable, versatile players with no ego (like deion branch who he traded for a couple first round picks but came back later and has been a fringe player on the 53 man roster.) you think every 5 star high school football player whos been a god their whole life will swallow their pride and buy into bill's team first concepts???!?!?! quote:like chuck weis, right? i have a hard time believing a guy like bill belichick will play the recruiting game year round for these 5 star guys you claim will just line up to play for him. he doesnt ego stroke, he serves humble pie to his players. he has amazing football knowledge, but he wont be able to keep his players for 12 hours a day all week to transfer it to them. BB is perfect for the NFL, but would be pretty average in CFB IMO Reply Back to Top |
quote: That's his NFL model quote: Are you really comparing the two? BB would never go to college, but don't doubt for a second he'd be successful This post was edited on 1/11 at 11:17 pm Reply Back to Top |

| BB would do good at a smaller school like Boise State where he doesn't have to worry about boosters and shit This post was edited on 1/11 at 11:49 pm Reply Back to Top Refresh |
