How Come we didn't Hire Jimbo Fisher? Posted by TigerFanInSouthland I always wondered how we couldn't keep him and promote him to our HC position. Was he ever interviewed? Or did he just not want to become our HC? I mean hindsight is 20/20 but he's got FSU on the up and rising again. Reply Back to Top
You think he's better than Miles? And what would you base this on.....I'll sit back and listen Reply Back to Top
The ghost of Mike Archer played a big part in the thought process, I'd imagine. Reply Back to Top

I agree. Jimbo was always overrated and most in BR thought he was ok but not special. I think he's probably a good QB coach but his OC skills never amazed me. Of course it was always hard to really tell bc Saban and Miles may have forced him to be conservative. Reply Back to Top

You'd take Jimbo over Les? How'd that great offensive play calling work against NCST? Reply Back to Top
You have obviously never met Jimbo. Great guy but not the brightest I have ever met. So we got Miles? Reply Back to Top
I'll never understand why LSU fans undervalued Jimbo Fisher. Reply Back to Top
quote: Except at LSU, where the fans deride the coach for leading his team to a 12-2 record that includes a national championship (2007), or an 11-2 record with a BCS berth (2006), or a 13-1 conference championship record with a BCS berth (2011). But, let's just heap a ton of praise on Jimbo Fisher for beating Northern Illinois in a bowl game. Reply Back to Top |

Bc the offense was boring and sputtered except the latter half of 2001, most of 2003, and some of 2006. Reply Back to Top

quote: I think LSU HC hires in all sports have been head coaches elsewhere. I'm not sure we've seriously considered the "up can coming assistant coach" for any HC position in any sport. I could be wrong though since I don't follow the minor sports closely. Reply Back to Top |

I think most people view the 2006 season as one game - Auburn. Reply Back to Top
