| re: Okay So I Watched The Cabin in the Woods (SPOILERS . . . I guess) raping tree is an evil dead reference again, it does help if you have a good working knowledge of the horror genre Reply Back to Top |
| Yeh, I used to watch tons of horror movies but have lost interest in most of them (especially those in a series) over the last several years. Not sure why. Not enough inventiveness or something? Gotten older? Whatever. I do like the occasional good, well written one, though. Reply Back to Top |
quote:apparently not i kid have you seen insidious? I think that's a really good one, even though the first half is MUCH better than the 2nd half Reply Back to Top |

quote:That was a reference to The Evil Dead. The girl gets raped by a tree in that movie. Me and my buddy paused it on the white board to see how many horror movies we recognized. I thought the movie was hilarious. Reply Back to Top |

quote: I did too, that board was great. One thing that makes this movie so great is the rewatchability factor. This post was edited on 12/31 at 12:05 pm Reply Back to Top |
quote: I disagree. Yall had hyped it up so much on here, it was probably impossible to live up to my expectations. Im with VOR on this, I can appreciate a well written horror movie from time to time, but I wouldnt pay to see it in the movies. My comments were a bit exaggerated when I said "frickin awful", but not by much. The first half was decent, but the end just kinda blew it for me. It was very predictable and over drawn. It could have been an ok movie without the fluff and bull shite at the end. Sometimes less is better IMO. Reply Back to Top |

Maybe it helps more to have a dislike for the horror genre. It probably also helps to be a fan of satire. Some of the furious reviews of TCITW are essentially icing on the cake.
