| Is This a True Statement About the Speake?r Boehner will not allow the House to vote straight up or down on a "fiscal cliff" bill unless he has a majority of Republican members' approval. In other words, even though there is a bill that has enough votes to pass, he won't allow it to come to a vote unless the majority of his party's member will vote yes. If this is true, is this good government? Does it reflect the will of the people? That's the charge against Boehner. Is it accurate or not? Reply • Back to Top |

| None of us have any ideas whether it's true in this particular case and/or driven by the motivations you outline (without a link). In fact it was probably worse since everyone but the most hackish of poster knew bush was a disaster.
