| How about THIS as a compromise to our gun problem? Posted by Rex No automatic or semi-automatic weapons allowed in possession inside homes, business places, schools, government buildings, etc. Private ownership of those items allowed but storage must be maintained at municipal militia centers. Each city, town, village, or hamlet may maintain a municipal militia center with stockpiles of weapons, even tanks and bazookas and such, that provides education on usage, crisis actions, etc. The centers would not be part of nor accountable to the US military; it's the citizen militia that would satisfy the Second Amendment's call for a well-regulated militia, separate and apart from the king's army. | A compromise is not telling another person what they have to do. Reply Back to Top |
| How about we just abide by the original intent of the 2nd amendment and the constitution and STFU Reply Back to Top |
| ok go give the government your guns, ill keep mine. Reply Back to Top |

| Thats not a compromise at all. Reply Back to Top |
| why compromise with loosers? Reply Back to Top |
| Seems pretty idiotic to have centralized, registered storage of arms that can be targeted by an overbearing govt if the point of the 2nd ammendment was to protect against an overbearing govt... Reply Back to Top |

| We don't need to compromise because your side will never win. The Second Amendment is here to stay, as are personal gun rights. Deal with it. Reply Back to Top |
Posted by Mike da Tigah on 12/31 at 9:37 am to Rex How about NO?Reply Back to Top |
quote: Centralized? You think an army could sieze every such depot, in all American cities and towns, all at once? Our military is nowhere near that big. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I agree BUT... That attitude is why we are losing rights IMHO. We have the right to "bear" arms but not the right to manufacture them, import them, sale them, or be free from absurd taxes on them. They aren't going hit us directly in the nuts, they are going to pull the rug out from under us first. This post was edited on 12/31 at 9:40 am Reply Back to Top |
Posted by Vegas Bengal on 12/31 at 9:40 am to Rex I think a good compromise would be to have those who want those type of weapons go through a process similar to obtaining a concealed weapons permit with the training courses, background checks, time delays.Reply Back to Top |
quote: So if our military is so powerless, small, and incompetent, maybe each person SHOULD bear arms. This post was edited on 12/31 at 9:42 am Reply Back to Top |
| You do realize "semi-automatic" encompasses all sporting guns which are not single shot, right? Lever actions, pump action, bolt actions are, by definition "semi-automatic". How is this a compromise? A US compromise to what Europe wants the US to be? Nah...I'll keep it the way it is, thank you. Reply Back to Top |
