| Maybe I'm mistaken, but haven't you said on here that you had a free ride to law school? Oh, and the correct answer is to take out as little as possible. This post was edited on 12/29 at 11:18 pm Reply Back to Top |
| Seriously look into doing Army/Navy/Air Force reserves. Working in their JAG is a sweet job to have. My dad was high up in the reserve command and always was pushing this on me while I was thinking about going to law school. I believe they have tuition reimbursement still for lawyers Reply Back to Top |
| I have a friend that graduated with a degree in pro-pilot. His loans accounted for tuition, fees, books, and flight lessons towards his small planes license. He ended up becoming a service manager at FedEx. Took him about 13 years to pay off his loans. He said if he could do it over he just would have joined the Air Force or Navy after college. Yes, it's a free ride. But I still have loans from undergrad + living expenses/etc. quote: I'm hoping too. From the posts in this thread it seems like 50-60k is a pretty reasonable amount to manage post graduation. Reply Back to Top |
quote: This is my overall goal, but with all of the budget cuts it is extremely tough to get into a jag program. You either need to land a summer internship w/ the jag or have already served in the military. Reply Back to Top |
Posted by JabarkusRussell on 1/1 at 6:55 pm to TheOcean Is it true if you only work part time Sallie Mae will suspend interest? Once you are back to full time, do they add the interest you would have paid?Reply Back to Top |
| FYI I graduated law school with around $115k in law plus undergrad loans. My monthly loan payments are around $1050. Fortunately I had a job right after graduation and haven't had trouble making the payments. Once my salary gets to where I plan it to be, I'll start hacking the amount down in chunks.
