| 4.41 40 according to Scout at the 2008 Miami combine LINK I have no idea how accurate any of the times (including Quinn's) are, but just about any receiver in high school should be over the moon to have a career similar to Conner Vernon's at Duke. | Probably because they see he has white skin. I mean how else can people explain the "deceptive speed" comments about sub 4.4 Danny Woodhead, who is by any measure an athletic freak. Now, I'm not saying I would be surprised if Vernon runs a 4.55 or whatever, but that's because the NFL combine times are always much slower than a high school camp in Miami, Houston, etc. So I wonder what that says about the allegedly accurate times at these high school camps where 18 year olds with no training are beating 22-year olds. | Ryan Swope gets this as well. Constantly compared to Wes Welker. They are nothing alike. Ryan is 5" taller and a lot heavier. Also has very good straight line speed. Amongst the fastest on our roster. Welker is small and shifty. Maybe the quickest man in the NFL in a 3 foot square. And I mention Swope because if you're looking for a white kid to compare Trey Quinn to then he's your guy. Trey is an inch taller, 10 pounds lighter, and if 4.39 is correct he's a shade faster. But at this point of Trey's career he's the better prospect at WR. Ryan was a HS RB and recruited as an ATH. Reply • Back to Top |
