| Difficult to imagine how a cold blooded reptile has the energy to attack anything in this temp. Musta laid out in the sun all day to juice up. Reply Back to Top |

Only thing we hafta worry about here is the occasional mountain lion or bear snoopin around the house. Reply Back to Top |
| [quote]Isn't that pretty strange for a gator to be out and about, much less aggressive, when it's in the 30's? [/quote Yep but maybe it could have been a female protecting her nest. Although I think that would be more likely in the summer. Reply Back to Top |

| Greetings and Happy New Year, Geauxt. Several years ago I went to Davis Island to check a friend's camp. The river was high and temps were in the 30's. There was a monstrous gator on the bank on Palmyra. probably as big as Simmons gator14 ft? This was in February I think. Not long after deer season anyway. Reply Back to Top |
| Damn, that's strange. It's been pretty cold for like 4 days. Hard to believe a gator would be that active. We've had them all year on Pecan Island. Had one take one of my ducks a oouple of weeks ago, but he just nibbled. Reply Back to Top |

quote: Uncle and cousin hunted it this morning. Said everything was flooded like crazy. Said they froze today, thought cold water made them slow down. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Everybody around here was thinking the same thing. I've seen them in this hole for several years when it's cold but especially when it's raining or just after a rain. I youst to take my dog there untill after a rain & it was gators everywhere. Reply Back to Top |
| That's scary. Did they get a look at how big it was? Twice I've had them sitting in my decoys this year. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
