If you could buy any duck call what would it be? Posted by tigah headache Here's what I have so far: I'm wanting to get a new 'higher tier' call for my bday in January and just exploring some options. Reply Back to Top
Looks like you're ready for a Chein Callie.... Reply Back to Top
Go custom for ya next call. I prefer Mayday calls, but there are tons of great custom call makers out there. I do like an Echo call, but nothing is better than a good custom job Reply Back to Top
What do you mean by custom? As in ordering it from someone who hand builds them or what? Give me some names. Reply Back to Top
I don't duck hunt so I didn't know how much duck calls cost....holy shite Reply Back to Top |
Yep handbuilt to what you want. You choose style, color, material, reed choice. I own several Mayday Calls that I've posted before. I'm a huge fan. I'll throw some pics up when I get a chance The orange and blue is one my gf surprised me with for Christmas. Great sounding single reed acrylic. And yes I am a call whore haha maydaycalls.com This post was edited on 12/28 at 8:10 pm Reply Back to Top |
I would look at Field Proven. Those guys and products are legit. Hunted with them last year, Field can make a goose not just come in, but come in and do tricks. Their duck calls are really easy to low, loud, raspy on the end. Better for open country prolly. Reply Back to Top
One that can make me nail the feed call like the RNT guy. Mine is pretty good, but they can roll with that think. Reply Back to Top
i'm not that knowledgeable on the different brands, but i'd love the mach 3 from duck commander. i just can't bring myself to pay that much for a duck call :for the poster with the mayday calls: how much did you pay for each? Reply Back to Top
Anywhere from $75 to $115. Ya not gonna find nice custom acrylics any more reasonable than that. They got great wood calls too that are a lil cheaper but look and sound 100x times better than cocobola calls Reply Back to Top
That orange and blue is sick looking. Can they make them in purp/gold? I didn't see those color options on the site. Does their double reed calls sound good? Reply Back to Top
that's actually a damn good price for a custom call Reply Back to Top
quote: I would be willing to bet that they can. They make all kinds of color combos. They do great work and part of the proceeds from each call go to the juvenile diabetes foundation because of his son. She paid $115 for that AU call. You're not gonna beat that for a custom job. The double reeds sound good, but I learned on a single so that's what I've always went with. Mention that orange and blue call when ya contact Brad and let him know I sent ya This post was edited on 12/28 at 8:32 pm Reply Back to Top |
A Mike Stelzner custom duck call, the best money can buy... Reply Back to Top
I'm gonna get me one soon bud, preciate the info. Reply Back to Top
I don't see any RNT's on that lanyard.. Check out the RNT short barrel. Or riceland custom specklebelly call. Chien cailles suck Reply Back to Top
Agreed on the Riceland. I need to get one. They sound sick! Reply Back to Top
quote: I couldn't agree more. I'm an average spec caller and kill specs consistently blowing a riceland Reply Back to Top |
I've improved a lot the last 2 years. Finally can keep a dialogue wih them. Reply Back to Top
I've never goose hunted. Just recently started hunting catahoula lake with some friends and there's plenty of geese to be killed in it. And just a tid bit; that's not the lanyard I take hunting. I only bring the dr-85, dc whistle, and white primos hunting. Theyre the only calls I use, I just love collecting them. Reply Back to Top Refresh
