A few of my favorites:

Jackson 5 - "I Want You Back" (Wilton Felder on bass)
Peter Gabriel - "Sledgehammer" (Tony Levin on bass)
Jaco Pastorius - "Come on Come Over" (Jaco on bass obviously)
Otis Redding - "Dock of the Bay" (Duck Dunn on bass)

These to me are very recognizable and integral to these songs.

Curtis Mayfield's Pusherman (Joseph 'Lucky' Scott)

LINK

Pink Floyd "Money"

marvin gaye "what's going on" (james jamerson, the best bassist to ever live)

lou reed - walk on the wild side (herbie flowers)

cool note about this song: he overdubbed his upright line with a fretless electric.

david bowie produced the track

Bakithi Kumalo lays down the sickest bassline in history imo in Paul Simon's You Can Call Me Al

Rage : Take the power back

One of my favorite all time bass lines at the beginning.

I love all his playing on The Brothers Johnson records and really any of the Quincy Jones produced stuff.

"Stomp" by Brothers Johnson is pretty awesome.
