re: This is why we don't shoot nice deer would you just cut the shite and start a disc golf thread to offset all of these AR threads?! Reply Back to Top

quote: I try to stay out of these arguements, but growing up every doe we saw was killed on the spot no questions asked. Reason being is the fricking deer had literally taken over, there was not enough food to sustain a descent herd. The population got in check and the bucks eventually started to get better and better as the years went one. Now the club is a place where trophies are able to be killed unlike in the early 90's when a scrub 4 point was a trophy. *Disclaimer* This was one of those "Islands" on the Mississippi river ya'll were arguing about the other day. | thinking about trying this out, do they make em for left handers? Reply Back to Top |
Meh It's pretty awesome at my place when somebody kills a nice buck and everybody is just as happy as the next man. Sure makes it easier to get along with everybody. Reply Back to Top
No sense in letting a good argument go to the 2nd page here. Refering to Alx's comment earlier about me bitching even though we are doing things "right" we are not doing much of anything right according to most here. We run dogs, we shoot what we want to shoot (if you want to shoot a 4pt go for it), we don't plant food plots, we don't have feeders, and we don't really try to manage to the degree most here do. We just have fun. Yet the biologists value out opinions on just about everything. Reply Back to Top
Do you or any of your club members desire to shoot deer with bigger antlers? If yes, don't shoot your 4 pts, if no blast away. Reply Back to Top

Of course we like shooting big bucks. Our place is always a hair over carrying capacity though and we have plenty big bucks according to trail cameras. The big bucks are already here and always have been. The amount of big old bucks is roughly a fixed number in any given wild deer population. Reply Back to Top

I need to work on my clarity. From year to year it is roughly a fixed percentage of your overall deer population Reply Back to Top
