Probably the best they could realistically hope for Reply Back to Top
if I were him, i would have held out another year. It's a better conference, but other than that it's a lateral move at best. Reply Back to Top

He took over a dumpster fire at SJSU. Now after building it into a nice team, he leaves for another shite hole. Not the best decision IMO. Reply Back to Top

SJSU has been bad for a while. He took them to the Top 25 in just 3 years... and almost beat Stanford this year. This is a good hire for them. Reply Back to Top

Great hire for them. Guy took SJSU from 1-12 first year (only 75 scholarship players) to 10-2 his third year. Hopefully he doesn't end up like dan hawkins Reply Back to Top
He is a good.coach Reply Back to Top
quote:quote: Colorado is a better program than SJSU, but that job is a career-killer at the moment. Poor facilities for a BCS school, little help from the administration, etc. A coach who can win at fricking SJSU can do better than Colorado when it comes to getting a new job. Reply Back to Top |
He was my first choice for UK. Solid hire by Colorado and I bet in a couple of years some of the teams that passed him over will regret it. Reply Back to Top
Seems like possible career suicide to me. He seems to be a very good coach, but turning Colorado around is a much bigger job. The competition is much higher and the recruiting is going to be tough. Reply Back to Top
The one thing about it, he can only take the program up. I would imagine he received assurances from the CU AD and administration of increased support across the board. Time will tell. Reply Back to Top
THANK GOD Reply Back to Top
bad, bad move for Coach Mac. Colorado is not committed to being big time in football again. He could have built something at SJSt. He just really needed to tap into that Bay Area money for a booster group that could have provided him the world. Lots of talent in that part of Cali. quote: Not that anyone cares, but he is a great guy. His father was the Vandy coach that took them to a bowl game in the 80's. I played football with/against his younger brother in Nashville. I hope its a good move for Mike. CO has been death sentence for head coaches. Reply Back to Top
quote: People in this thread are talking about lack of support and such, but MM was winning at San Jose freaking State. They nearly beat Stanford, for crying out loud. It's a great move by Colorado, and good luck to him. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
