Just got it in. Decided to go with the .22 caliber strictly on price difference of ammunition verse the standard AR-15. Bought a vertical grip and cheap Centerpoint scope for the time being. Can't wait to shoot it!

I got the one from my Coworker that I posted about yesterday. Sweet gun. Ordered a cheap 4x30 scope for it and will report back once I get to go sight it in and play with it.

I did actually. I wanted to go with the S&W cause it was made like the AR-15, and I will probably end up building an AR-15 one day. Also, I've heard the quality of this gun is second to none when it comes to .22 caliber AR style weapons. And, since I will be putting a lot of rounds through it, I figured the extra cost would be worth the results.

You are 100% correct in you reasoning and assessment.

You can mount scopes on the types with handles...

(But the one I got is a flat top)

On the Mossberg there's a Pic rail on top the handle.

im trying to justify the extry 200 hunnert bucks for the s and w versus mossyberg... it wont ever get shot after a few rounds go through it when it's new... i was planning on using it to head shoot zombies if they ever attack Bawcomville..

I'm not trying to knock Mossbergs by any means, but unless it was gonna affect me paying the gas or light bill, I would buy the SW.

I have felt both, but only shot the SW.

What is your take on ammo? I bought Federal ammo and Remington Golden Bullet. I've heard the Remington has a lot of problems and I'm considering returning it and picking up more Federal. Have you used either of these?

Then why spend the xtra? That's the way I see it.

My scenario is a little different. I plan on running 1000's of rounds through mine but it's just going to be my plinker. Sling lead, spray clean and throw it in the truck when done.

I have never had much trouble with any any ammo I have shot. I don't recall particular brands or types, but all of it was bulk ammo.

Mine gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside and spends a lot of time in the safe.

Eta: I would shoot it every day if I had the time or land.

You can put a scope on top of the carry handle, if that is what you are asking. Someone posted a picture of theirs yesterday
