Advice on leaving a family farm partnership Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't want any money from the other partners, I just want to separate my finances and taxes from my cousins. Its really more an issue of legal exposure than money. And can anyone recommend a N La tax attorney with a background in this sort of thing. Reply Back to Top

Monroe would be ideal but I'm in Shreveport a couple of days a week anyway. Reply Back to Top
Not knowing the specifics of family farm partnerships, if it's possible, can you substitute a business or a trust for your part of the partnership? IE - have Joe Blow person assign his interests in the family farm partnership to Joe Blow Family Farmer, LLC... Something along those lines. Reply Back to Top
There are several good tax specialists in Monroe. Do you not know someone who can give you a referral? Reply Back to Top
I've always relied on the family's attorney but he's kneedeep in some things that strike me as well beyond shady. In particular, questionable dealings that have zero benefit for me. I'm looking for a way to separate myself without turning a spotlight on the cousins. This post was edited on 12/5 at 11:27 am Reply Back to Top
Brooks Watson or John Luffey,Jr. Either is very good. Reply Back to Top
My family uses older guy from Monroe, his name is Brooks Watson. Not cheap. But he's thorough. Reply Back to Top Refresh
