| Scenarios for the Playoffs Posted by purplepylon First, Saints must win remaining 4 games. There is a scenario that gets the Saints in at 8-8, but it's messy. Teams we are fighting with: Seattle 7-5: ARZ, atBUF, SF, STL - Must lose two of the NFC games for Saints to win a tiebreaker against them. Not likely, but possible. Washington 6-6 : BAL, atCLE, atPHI, DAL - Must lose any two games for us to pass them. Probably not happening. Minnesota 6-6 : CHI, atSTL, atHOU, GB - Must lose at least one. That'll happen. Don't worry about Vikings. Dallas 6-6 : atCIN, PIT, NO, atWAS - Doesn't matter, just beat them in Dallas and we got the tiebreaker over them. Tampa Bay 6-6 : PHI, atNO, STL, atATL - Same as Dallas. Beat them, we got tiebreaker. Here is where it gets interesting. Chicago 8-4: atMIN, GB, atARZ, atDET - Needs to lose 3 of the remaining 4, if so Saints tie them and would get tiebreaker. Root for this, if we concede that Seattle stays ahead of us. Scenario NY Giants 7-5 : NO, atATL, atBAL, PHI - Need to lose 3 of 4. Saints would not own tiebreaker if they lose only 2. Root for this, if we concede Washington stays ahead of us. This only helps us get in if we get Seattle or Chicago out as well. This is just to prevent Washington from taking a Wild Card spot from us. quote: this is wrong, they need to lose 2/4. They are 7-5 right now, so going .500 puts them at 9-7 with us winning the tiebreaker due to head to head I think, if their corners are suspended, seattle goes 1-3 the rest of the way This post was edited on 12/4 at 12:24 am Reply Back to Top |
quote: Actually, if they get to 9-7, they'd get in over us for some reason. This post was edited on 12/4 at 12:31 am Reply Back to Top |
| Saints even have a shot at the 5 seed. Crazy Reply Back to Top |
quote: must be some kind of 3 way tie scenario. that really hurts us if the saints-giants-seahawks all finish 9-7 we get left out This post was edited on 12/4 at 1:16 am Reply Back to Top |
| Record vs common opponents does us in. Reply Back to Top |
| so looks like we aren't gonna make it looks like we need the giants to win the division and redskins and chicago to lose I wish there was a website where you could select your team, and it would give you every scenario where your team could make the playoffs This post was edited on 12/4 at 1:16 am Reply Back to Top |

quote: well i think they would have beat Arizona without them, so that was my 1. They'll at least have Browner for the game at Buffalo since they haven't even scheduled his appeal yet (repeat offender too). @ Buffalo --> I think they lose this one because of the distance from home. Buffalo can't stop the run, so that spells trouble though. Really need sherman to be suspended, but I highly doubt it since his appeal is on that friday. San Fran --> don't see them winning this one with or without their DB's. St. Louis --> playing good football right now, they'll win if the corners are out This post was edited on 12/4 at 3:05 am Reply Back to Top |
| St Louis is also ahead of us right now. Reply Back to Top |

| Was coming to bump your old thread, but this one is money. Excellent work dude. Really appreciate it. Sticky requested. That Bears collapse against Seattle really took the wind out of my sails though. I'm still convinced we can win out, but I'm not getting my hopes up for everything else to fall our way. Still want to see this team get big wins over Giants, Bucs, Cowboys, and Panthers though. Truly, 4 of my least favorite teams along with ATL, Skins, 49ers, and Vikings. I know it seems settled, but 4 weeks is A LOT of time for things to get shaken up. If we win out and finish 9-7, who knows what happens. Plus, I really want to see the D continue to improve, and especially see Drew end on a hot streak. Dude will have a rough summer beating himself up if he doesn't get the bad taste of the past two games out of his system. Let's finish strong, winning 9 of our last 12, which would be so impressivr given the way the NFL stacked the deck against us, and be poised for another Super Bowl run in 2013 and just let the 2012 chips fall where they may. | Urlacher to possibly miss remainder of regular season for Bears. Looking like this Bears collapse that we need is taking shape Reply Back to Top |
| Tim Jennings injury not as serious as initially thought though. But either way their defense is not looking nearly as dominant, and their offense isn't what wins games for then anyway. Reply Back to Top |
