Mike Cooley, known for his work with Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers, has announced the release of his debut solo album The Fool On Every Corner. The release was recorded by renowned DBT producer David Barbe over a three-show run in Atlanta and Athens, Ga.

This stripped-down live release includes eleven fan-favorites, a cover of Charlie Rich’s “Behind Closed Doors,” and one new song. Through most of the recording, Cooley abandons the guitar pick and plays through the set with his fingers. This kind of detail is part of what makes the album so special.
