resume followup etiquette Posted by tigeralum06 After sending your resume to a potential employer, how long should you wait to hear back before checking in with the company? Reply Back to Top
Did they request the resume? I've never checked up after just responding to a job ad Reply Back to Top
quote: 30 minutes. For real, did you send it to a recruiter or submit it online? If you sent it online, do you have a contact at the company? Given you have a contact to talk to, you could a) let them know you submitted your application through the online system (sort of a "heads up" email) and ask them about their process, or b) if you submitted your stuff to that person directly, give them 3-5 business days and then ask a process-related question. ETA: I would never phrase the follow-up as "I sent my resume, have you made a decision yet?" No matter the time frame, it comes across as impatient. Just ask about their process, if there's anything left for you to do, etc. This post was edited on 11/13 at 8:25 am Reply Back to Top |
After waiting a day or two you should walk into the HR office and loudly demand to "get to the bottom of this". Reply Back to Top
Responded to online ad byfor sending it to interviewer and received confirmation. I know these things take time. My thoughts are to just wait it out and not worry about it since I am already employed elsewhere. Just wanted to see if I should be doing anything else. Reply Back to Top
