| Best Scope for the money Posted by Tigah32 I'm getting a new rifle. I'm going to pick up my Winchester model 70 on Friday, I've always hunted with leupold's. What do you think is the best "bang for your buck" scope out there. I would love to spend under 150 if possible. I understand that 95% of the time you get what you pay for, but are there any reasonably priced very good scopes out there? Reply Back to Top |
| Leupold from academy 297.00 i think Reply Back to Top |

| The scope makes the rifle. Limiting yourself to $150 is not going to get you much scope at all. Nikon Buckmasters is a decent scope for the money, if you have a limited budget. Reply Back to Top |
| Ive got some nikons, and leupolds.. And im gona tell ya, look at the brand mueller. I got one as a budget scope for a gun and it is now my favorite scope! Lifetime warranty also, very good glass. Would definitely get another Reply Back to Top |

quote: i've heard/read good things about redfield scopes. if i remember correctly they are made on the same manufacturing line as the leupolds. nikon's aren't horrible either if you don't know any better. Reply Back to Top |
quote: This is one hell of a scope but I believe it is out of his price range. I recommend Redfield Revolution and Revenge scopes. They're made by Leupold now so they carry the same lifetime warranty. Reply Back to Top |

Actually, my wife got to the store very early, about the same time I was leaving to go deer hunting! I think it was only $129. It's a very clear scope that I can recommend. You can probably save some money buying a 3-9X scope instead of a higher magnification scope. Getting a factory refurbished scope will also save considerable $$$. I've bought a number of factory refurb Nikon's from here LINK . Looks like they're out of the models in your price range at this time, but maybe you can find some elsewhere. Reply Back to Top |

| The Redfields are getting pretty good reviews. They have a $30 rebate going on now. I'm picking one up today at lunch for my 45/70. POS Bushnell will not hold a group after 3 years on it. Reply Back to Top |
| i'd look at some nikons...i've been very pleased with mine Reply Back to Top |

Posted by TigerOnThe Hill on 10/8 at 12:28 pm to beHop Whoops, forgot about the Redfield's. My son in law has bought a couple and really likes them. I'll also throw out a brand that's not yet been mentioned, Nitrex. I bought a Nitrex TR-1 summer '11 for a varmint gun and have been VERY impressed. Would've bought another, but they were being discontinued. This is just one of many models available at Natchez Shooter's Supply. LINK To get one, you may have to act quick before they're gone.
