| re: Who agrees the Ricky Seals-Jones is a must get No such thing as a must get recruit. Every recruit is replacable either this year or the next. RSJ is a huge want but that would be the case even if our offense was putting up numbers like WVU. He also would not be starting next year. Our issues(other than Beckham's complete loss of competence) is scheme related for the most part. Being tall isn't going to relieve that. People complain that Landry is slow but I'd put money that Landry is in the same neighborhood as RSJ in regards to speed. RSJ will not come in running better routes or having better hands than Landry. Scheme is why Landry isn't open. Our routes are too simple, easy to read and therefore easy to cover. quote: Right, and the scheme isn't going to change which is why we NEED a guy who is open even when he is covered. RSJ has the size to be that kind of WR. Reply Back to Top |

Posted by ntexastiger on 10/6 at 11:33 pm to Cincinnati Bowtie he won't be coming to us with the offense we have. period.Reply Back to Top |
| How good is he at run blocking, WR screens and quick slants? Reply Back to Top |
| No, I disagree. I think Beckwith is an important recruit & should do well, but there are plenty of good defensive players already committed and others waiting their chances to play. With only four or five spots left in the current class presuming no decommits, I think Seals-Jones is a very important player. I would hope that Avery Johnson would still enroll in January and that Dural would recover from injury. More WR talent is needed to find a few who can catch the ball, not fumble it and make plays. | While I agree that Seals-Jones would be an adrenaline shot for this offense, I'm not sure how much it would matter. As others have said, I don't even know if Calvin Johnson would make a difference at this point. Obviously the injury to Chris Faulk is being felt and then some, I think Mettenberger just needs more time and experience. Reply Back to Top |
| Calvin Johnson is a freak of nature. He cannot be covered. RSJ has the same measurables... IN HIGH SCHOOL. If we don't get this guy it will be worse than losing Fournette. Reply Back to Top |
| Greg Gilmore isn't listed in your top 4 recruits wanted for the 2013 class. Can I ask why not? RSJ would be great to add to the class. Gilmore, Beckwith, and Williams are top 3 to fill areas of need. Reply Back to Top |
quote: #1 #2 and #3 WR's are areas of need right now. We have no size or speed there. Reply Back to Top |
| The way things are going, he is aTm' s to lose. He sees an offense that is improving and throwing the ball all over the field with a freshman over there. Over here, complete ineptness. Reply Back to Top |

| Man I hate our offense....it bothers me to watch them do the same boring predictable shite...it's killing me....i hope that recruits like RSJ are watching and thinking that they can come in an actually catch the ball (unlike OBJ3)to help LSU win and not look at other schools bc of the awful offense we run. Something has to change on offense Reply Back to Top |
| Let's be honest... You see A&Ms offense compared to ours? Who would you want to play for? I don't think we have a shot. That kid is going to A&M Reply Back to Top |
quote: I think Danielson made a great observation late in the third qtr. when he said that LSU didnt have the big body receiver like in the past and he mentioned Tolliver and maybe a few others. I, like everyone els, think that we have an offensive scheme problem and some good receivers but not a great one at this time. He would certainly help. Reply Back to Top |
| RSJ and Leslie will start if they end up on campus at LSU from day one IMO. This is the worst receiver corp we have had...well, since I remember...and I have been paying attention for 30 years. We don't have one receiver that will make an NFL roster right now. Reply Back to Top |
Posted by TigerAlum93 on 10/7 at 9:17 am to Slinger16 OBJ runs somewhere in the 4.4's, and Landry was a 5 star recruit. Reply Back to Top |
| The proof is in the pudding...OBJ and Landry are not producing...they have horrible hands. Hands are a necessity at WR. Reply Back to Top |
| I've heard he's a lock for A&M. He really likes sumlin This post was edited on 10/7 at 10:10 am Reply Back to Top |
| Another 30 or 40 pounds, he might make a good guard or tackle. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
