| yea i would like the fainting goats also Reply Back to Top |
| There's a place near me that's had a sign up about selling goats for as long as I've lived in Slidell (8 years). I'll get the info on my way home and post it for you. But if you live in Franklinton, as your profile says, you should have no trouble finding goats. Reply Back to Top |

| Stop by the auction barn in Kentwood. Normally can buy some cheap kids for a $10-20 on sale days. Unless you want a certain breed. Reply Back to Top |
quote:Shyt, their still my favorit on the pit. Nice avy btw. To the OP, check out the local sale barn. They'll run 'em through there. We used to show boers and I'd sell some good bloodlines there with the ones we culled. Reply Back to Top |
| Try your local sale barn, or farm and garden section of craigslist. There are always goats on craigslist. We had some fainting and some regulars a few years ago. If I got some again, I'd go with boer goats, or at least some boer goat crosses. This post was edited on 10/3 at 6:43 pm Reply Back to Top |
quote: Used to kinda date a gal that showed boer goats. Those were some high-dollar critters. I don't know what kind we used to eat. I'll just call them the kind that you find stomping on the roof of your truck in the morning. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Exactly what I was talking about. I love the sale barn. When I was little I'd go with my dad and we would always come back with different shite. We had cows, horses, goats, egyptian geese, canada geese, ducks... My mom pretty much banned us from going. Every once in a while they'll have an exotic sale... aww son! They'd sale ostrich, emu, deer, exotic fowl, and all kinds of stuff. Reply Back to Top |
| We have a pygmy named Billy. He thinks he's a dog. Cries to get in the house (of course we don't let him) wants to climb in your lap, and headbutts the dog. He's very sweet. Billy will be full grown at about 30/5 lbs. Billy also lets mr peepers ride around on his back. Normal sized goats can get to 150lbs. Just FYI, male goats need to be cut unless you don't mind them humping everything in sight and peeing on his beard. It stinks but the goat bitches love it. quote:I wrote a $1500.00 check for one, once. Wife thought I was crazy. What she DIDN'T know is that I'd brought some cash to Dallas (where I'd gone to get it) and that check was ONLY HALF of what I paid. Saw a buck sell for 30 grand at a dispersal sale in W Monroe. Reply Back to Top |
Posted by Geauxtiga on 10/4 at 6:55 pm to TClayboy99 quote:Registered people with a lot of high dollar stuff use those fainting goats to save the good ones. If a coyote gets in herd, for example, the adrenaline will make the fainting goat drop and they yote will take IT, not the "good" ones. Donkies and Great Pyranesse (sp?) are pretty much taking over those duties though. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
