| I did notice that there are ZERO LA prospects in between Godchaux at 195 and Sam at 512. 317 spots.. pretty significant number without anyone from Louisiana. But, the talent at the top end of the spectrum is second-to-none. Reply Back to Top |
| per capita, la dominates that list Reply Back to Top |
| No doubt about that Reply Back to Top |
| If we land Brown, Paris, Daub, Deondre Clark, Hampton, Simmons, and maybe another DT or OL blue chip to go along with our instate guys, this class will be as good as any on paper. Reply Back to Top |

Posted by bayou blazer on 10/4 at 3:16 pm to redfieldk717 The funny thing about these rankings are as soon as LSU offers an unknown kid that kid all of a sudden goes up from unranked to top 25. It happens every time. once LSU pull the trigger all of a sudden the analysts are authorities on that kid. Case in point - chuck baker. Nothing aganist the kid, but it wasn't until LSU offered that these analysts had this big revlation on how good he is. Went from unranked to 4*. Who will be the Chuck Baker of 2014Reply Back to Top |
| tre'davious white and josh boutte as well. No one knew who they were until they commited to LSU and blew up some summer camps. All the talk was about beckwith, williams, smith, and diarse. Look where White is ranked in comparison. There are guys in La that we dont know about right now that will be big time recruits. It takes time for guys to emerge. Reply Back to Top |
quote: That will change. There is a lot of '14 talent in the state, but it's not all being seen right now. I'm surprised Scout doesn't have a 'Top 10 prospects from John Curtis for the 2014 Class' list yet. There are a lot of juniors around the state that aren't really being evaluated for whatever reason, but eventually they will all be seen. Reply Back to Top |
| How many of those La guys in the top 200 do you think we realistically get? Question is for anyone that doesnt wanna flame, not just redfield. Reply Back to Top |
| I think the only LA guy we miss on is Willis. This class can literally be our best ever Reply Back to Top |

| well since 3 (sims, young, godchaux) don't have LSU offer, 9 (minimum) out of the 10 with offers sounds pretty good Reply Back to Top |
| I noticed the huge gap. This is why LSU isnt as easy to recruit at as people think. Cant build a BCS champion from LA talent a lone. But its important to get majority of top players from in state. Always a great base to build upon. Reply Back to Top |

| Why is it that so many top LA players are battles with Bama/Auburn (recently) whereas it is not the same for students from Alabama or even Georgia? Is it that LA kids are not entranced as much by LSU as Alabama kids are by Bama/Auburn? I do realize that we get the occasional player from Alabama or Georgia but it seems like it is not so with the perceived game changers. I do know that we get Texas/Florida players as well as the some great guys from other states (SC/Michigan, etc...) but this seems to be a noticeable lack. | LSU does not recruit the state of alabama very hard. Miles never coached in Alabama, in comparison, Bama staff has inroads to Louisiana and has uses that as an advantage. La has more talent than alabama, thus they come here more often. Bama goes head to head with UGA just as much as they do with LSU for recruits. They recruit Georgia as much or more than La. quote: The best player in Alabama last year went to FSU. quote: Who has more talent Texas/Florida or Alabama? Its easier to pull kids from huge states like Texas, and Florida than it is from Bama. Kids that live in Bama are usually brought up Bama/Auburn and it's a tougher pull for LSU than other places.
